Digital Sales Compliance (EU + Italy)
A Claude Code skill that checks a site selling digital products (ebooks, templates, courses, software, skills) to EU consumers against what the rules expect, then writes what is missing: terms, privacy notice, VAT statement, the withdrawal-right waiver for immediate downloads, and the checkout consent text. Italian specifics included: private seller without partita IVA or business, texts in English and Italian.
- Price: $15, one-time
- Version: 1.0.0, updated 2026-10-29
- Works with: Claude Code, or any agent with a shell
- Seller: Stramanu (Emanuele Strazzullo)
What it does
- Asks the facts that change the answer: private or business, occasional or regular sales, where checkout happens, which analytics run, buyers' languages.
- Audits the site offline with a script on your built pages: terms and privacy linked from every page, contact email, seller name, VAT statement (or VAT number for a business), withdrawal text for digital content, trackers with or without consent (Google Analytics/Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, TikTok, Clarity), and the purchase page (no trackers, noindex).
- Writes the fixes: terms for a private seller or a business, privacy notice, checkout consent sentence in English and Italian, footer line, and how to set the sentence in Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Paddle or Gumroad.
- Reruns the audit until nothing is left to fix, and lists what still needs a professional (VAT/OSS for businesses, B2B-only stores, subscriptions).
A real session
We ran it on our own two sites on 2026-10-29. A product sales page on a separate subdomain had 5 failures: no terms, no privacy notice, no contact, no seller name, no withdrawal text. The page was folded into the store with a permanent redirect. The store itself had 2 warnings: one hand-made product page did not link the terms and privacy. After the fix, the audit reports 0 to fix, 0 to check, 8 fine, including cookieless analytics and an untracked, noindex purchase page.
Requirements
- Claude Code (or any agent with a shell) and Python 3
- Your site's built HTML, or the key pages saved as HTML
What you get
The digital-sales-compliance skill: the workflow, scripts/audit_site.py (offline, standard library, 6 tests), references/rules.md (the rule behind each check, with EU references), and templates for terms (private and business), privacy notice and checkout text. Single-user license.
Limits
A practical checklist, not legal advice. It covers selling digital content to consumers; physical goods, B2B-only sales and subscriptions need more. The audit reads HTML: it cannot see what your checkout provider shows, so the skill asks you to check the checkout page by hand. VAT registration decisions belong to an accountant.
